Chicago Board Options Exchange retained its leadership in US equity and equity index options trading in February, with a market share of 30.7%, a shade lower than February 2009s 31.5% but higher than Januarys 29.6%.
The Options Clearing Corp, which clears trading on the eight US options exchanges, released its monthly trading report yesterday afternoon US time.
The second biggest exchange is Eurexs subsidiary the International Securities Exchange with a 22.8% market share, basically the same as in January but sharply down from 28.3% in February 2009.
However, in the pure equity options market, stripping out index transactions, ISE has almost caught up...
