Brazilian regulator hails competition and cross-border expansion


The Brazilian model of financial regulation has been uniquely effective in encouraging transparency and stable growth of the country’s market institutions, a director of its securities regulator argued yesterday.

Otavio Yazbek, a commissioner of Comissão de Valores Mobiliários, was speaking to Futures and Options Intelligence ahead of today’s FOW Derivatives World Latin America conference in São Paulo, where Yazbek will give the keynote address.
