Fortis launches its own global high speed networkFortis Bank Global Clearing is launching its own global high speed network, known as FCGN, to connect 24 of its hosting, proximity and colocation data centres in Asia, Europe and the Americas.During a 12 month design and build process, the bank chose what it called “best of breed providers” to provide low latency intercontinental land and subsea cable routes for fully resilient global connectivity.Local dark fibre and DWDM metropolitan links are combined with Clear Channel bandwidth to create what the Dutch bank believes is one of the fastest and most diverse global trading networks in the world.Alongside Fortis Clearing’s local hosting facilities, the FCGN allows its clients to route trading traffic from their offices or Fortis Clearing’s rack space in one location to a trading venue or execution platform next door or on the other side of the world.
