EDX and Idem volumes hit by loss of Swedish contractAverage daily volume at EDX London and the Italian Derivatives Exchange Market, the London Stock Exchange Group’s derivatives branches, was 303,000 contracts in February, down 24% on February 2009.The total for the month was 6.05m contracts, with a notional alue of £58.8bn (Eu67.1bn). The equivalent figures in February 2009 were 7.98m contracts worth £66.8bn (Eu75.4bn).The bright spot for LSE’s futures and options business is the International Order Book derivatives traded at EDX, which include its Russian equity derivatives. Trading in this segment has never been higher, growing 56% year-on-year to 3.1m contracts.
