Record volumes at BM&FBM&F Bovespa has enjoyed its strongest month since the advent of the financial crisis, with average daily trading in its BM&F derivatives segment setting a new record.The number of contracts traded reached 2.2m, compared to the previous record of 2.17m contracts in March 2008.Trading via direct market access also set a new record, with a daily average of 697,000 contracts, topping October 2009’s total of 497,000. The exchange recently reiterated its commitment to improving DMA, as well as migrating more trade on to its partner CME’s Globex platform.
