News in brief: New options on EEX; Goldman joins SGX; four new ETFs

EEX approves options contracts and establishes working committees

The European Energy Exchange’s exchange council has approved new options contracts for within-day trading on its natural gas spot market, as well as the trading of Phelix week futures, which are to begin trading on the bourse at the end of March. The bourse is also planning to add further expiry dates for its options on Phelix Baseload year futures, offering expiry dates at the end of March, June and September.

In addition, the council has approved the creation of four working committees to replace its existing trader working groups. The committees will aid in the further development of the bourse’s power, natural gas, emission rights and coal markets. The committees, to be made up of no more than 12 members, will consist of market makers and interested traders, EEX has said.
