SEC proposes limit on maker taker fees for US options


The US Securities and Exchange Commission has proposed capping the fees charged by US options exchanges that use maker taker pricing. The proposal, unveiled yesterday (April 14), would align rules that govern the US securities market.

The SEC said the rule would prohibit an exchange from “unfairly impeding access to displayed quotations” and would limit the fees it could charge investors wishing to access a quotation.
