CME achieves FX volumes record
Wednesday April 28 was a record day for CME Groups foreign exchange products, in terms of both trading volumes and notional values.
There was a throughput of 1.48m contracts, with a total notional value of $193bn. The previous record, set on December 4, 2009, was 1.40m contracts.
There were record volumes of 694,000 contracts in euro futures and options, which had a notional value of $115bn. This surpassed the previous record of 595,000 contracts, reached on April 27.
