CBOE readies for IPO with SEC filing, expects market to value the bourse at $2.9bn


The Chicago Board Options Exchange has finalised its plans for an initial public offering in a filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday (May 27). The US bourse said it expects to sell shares at a price between the range of $27-$29 – which would value the options exchange at $2.87bn when the share sale is initiated in mid June.

In its filing with the US securities regulator, the CBOE says it will offer a total of 11.7m shares on the Nasdaq market to be sold - 9.6m by the exchange, with the rest offered by exchange members.
