Throughput falls 15.8% at Meff
Trading volume fell 15.8% year on year at Meff, Bolsas y Mercados Españoles’ derivatives market, in May, but records were set in some contracts. Trading in Ibex 35 Futures reached a record of 817,000 contracts, up 91% year on year, while Ibex 35 Mini Futures also hit a new high of 552,000, up 87.5%. The Mini contract also made two daily records during the month.
The Ibex 35 is the official index of the Spanish Continuous Market and comprises the 35 most liquid stocks on that market.
Though the number of contracts fell, the notional value of contracts traded grew 51% year on year to €102.72bn.
