News in brief: Getco's European plans; CFTC gees up NFA


Getco launches execution services in Europe
Getco, the US electronic trading firm, is to launch its Getco Execution Services in Europe. The firm’s trading platform offers investors direct, anonymous access to Getco’s dedicated liquidity pool across 50 global exchanges and multilateral trading facilities, as well as offering universal clearing.
“Getco Execution Services is pleased to raise the standard for investors seeking to minimise market impact,” said Jon Ross, global co-leader of GES, in a statement. “GES provides deep liquidity and sub-millisecond executions, and with its CCP clearing model GES reduces counterparty and overall systemic risk.”
Getco claims client orders receive, on average, sub-millisecond executions – including fills and partial fills – at the European Best Bid and Offer price or better.
