News in brief: Spectron poaches MF Global team; BM&F rebates automated traders


Spectron launches major new fuel oil desk
Commodities brokerage Spectron has extended its market coverage to include European Fuel Oil. A nine strong team of brokers, previously of MF Global, has joined Spectron and will be starting operations from its London office on September 1. The team will be headed by Danny Fenn.

Spectron operates a global wholesale marketplace for energy, commodities and freight. Markets covered include natural gas, electricity, oil, coal, freight, metals, weather derivatives, petroleum products, nuclear fuels, soft commodities, agricultural products, commodity exotics, emissions and environmental products.

BM&F slashes auto HFT fees
BM&F Bovespa has announced that high frequency day traders on all contracts - except for Ibovespa and US dollar futures – will receive a 70% discount when using automated trading systems, TRADEfees reports.
