Green Exchange achieves daily volume recordNymex yesterday announced a daily volume record in its Green Exchange contracts. A total of 5,290 were traded, more than double the pervious record of 2,630 traded on August 17. Green Exchange has a suite of contracts related to greenhouse gases. They are derivatives based on the certificates of EU Allowance, Carbon Emission Reduction, Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide.The products are eligible for a fee holiday until August 31, 2010.Tom Lewis, Green Exchange’s chief executive, said in a statement that: “After opening our first international office in London in May and hiring a local team to help us drive our European growth strategy, we are pleased to see our volumes begin to rise. “We look forward to the upcoming months as we continue to work with the...
