ECX follows Green Exchange with record tradingThe European Climate Exchange has followed nascent rival the Green Exchange by reporting a daily trading record for August 19.The ECX, owned by Intercontinental Exchange Group since its £395m ($604m) takeover of Climate Exchange’s bourses in April, enjoyed record trading of 12,000 Certified Emissions Reductions contracts on ICE Futures Europe that day.A record 7,060 contracts were traded on screen. In August, combined open interest in the CER and EU Allowances futures and options surpassed 1bn tonnes of CO2 equivalent for the first time. On August 25, open interest stood at 1.04m contracts, a quarter higher than last year....
