Corzine brings former aide Abelow to help run MF Global


MF Global, the largest US futures brokerage, has hired Bradley Abelow as chief operating officer, with effect from today (Monday September 13).

He will oversee the brokerage’s strategy review and assume direct responsibility for risk, operations, client services, human resources, information technology, procurement and property.

A close confidant of MF Global’s new CEO Jon Corzine, Abelow was his chief of staff for several years when he was governor of New Jersey. MF Global replaced its chief executive Bernie Dan with Corzine, the former Goldman Sachs CEO, in March, after a period of poor financial results.
