OTC futures strong as equities slump


Any investors looking for a safe haven probably will not find it on this page as all but four of our top global exchanges this week fell in monthly volume for July.

In FOi’s global rankings of the top five total stock futures, just one reported gains in volume for the month.

NYSE Liffe IEF Other Bclear Futures rather tellingly boosted from sixth to third place, possibly indicating the increasing popularity of OTC trading during turbulent times. A 57% upturn in activity allowed a month end report of 10.9m, the third highest volume for the clearing service this year.
