Trading places: ASX prepares for 'new era'


Elmer Funke Kupper is to be appointed as the next managing director and CEO of the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

He will replace Robert Elstone in the role on October 6.

Elstone held the post of MD and CEO for over 11 years. He spent five years at ASX since the merger with SFE Corporation in July 2006 and six years at SFE before that.

ASX’s Chairman, David Gonski AC, said: “The ASX Board is delighted with Elmer’s appointment and believes he is the right candidate to lead ASX into a new era.”

Funke Kupper added: “I am delighted to join the ASX team....
