SEC goes global

The Securities and Exchange Commission is set to increase regulatory advice and support for emerging markets.

The SEC revealed its plans by naming Dr Robert Fisher as a deputy director in its Office of International Affairs.

Fisher joined the SEC staff in 2002 as a financial economist and later became an assistant director in the Office of International Affairs.

He has been responsible for the SEC’s international technical assistance program for emerging and recently-emerged markets and now oversee policy issues for the office.
